Thanks to Cramming in the warp and thick and thin wefts, these towels are wonderfully patterned with prominent horizontal lines on the front and vertical lines on the back. The weave looks quite open on the loom, but wet-finishes to a delightful weight and hand—perfect for drying your hands!

  • Rigid heddle loom 
  • 12.5-dent reed
  • 2-4 stick shuttles (boat shuttles are not recommended for this project)

Yarn

Warp: Beam 8/2 Organic Cotton, 360 yds Blush, 375 yds Cobalt.

Weft: Beam 8/2 Organic Cotton, 140 yds Blush, 140 yds Cobalt; Beam 3/4 Organic Cotton, 50 yds Blush, 50 yds Cobalt.

Specifications

  • 18" weaving width
  • 16 EPI (approximate, due to cramming)
  • 12 PPI for thin weft, 9 PPI for alternating thick and thin weft
  • Two towels, 15" W x 24" L
